What you'll find in our dance studio
Here at Trillium Ballet, we offer tailored training to every dancer that steps into our studio.

We honor bodily autonomy, safety, and individuality. We are an inclusive and gender-affirming space. We hope to reshape the world of ballet through radical acceptance of our bodies, personhood, and excellent dance technique.
Being true to yourself and being a great dancer are not exclusive.

We reject the notion that people who differ from the status quo cannot achieve beautiful, thoughtful, and proficient feats of athleticism and art through dance.

We are an adult focused studio, offering classes to those who have never danced before or who have previously danced and long to dance once more.

Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS THE DRESSCODE?
We require that dancers wear canvas or leather ballet shoes in pink, flesh tone, or black. We recommend dancers wear form fitting clothing that is all black during classes and rehearsals. This helps the instructor to give more accurate corrections during class.

We do not require dancers to adhere to specific attire based on sex or gender. We encourage dancers to wear what is safe and comfortable.

HOW DO YOU TEACH BALLET WITHOUT GENDER NORMS?
We teach everyone every role, whether the roles are classically 'Men' or 'Women' roles. This enriches a dancer, aids their technical proficiency, and highlights dancers' strengths without shaming them for having specific characteristics or stylistic preferences.

We instruct through education and history. For instance, when we teach hand placement, we teach both 'Men' and 'Women' hand techniques and allow dancers to choose which hand form they prefer.

We encourage everyone to dance on pointe and everyone gets a chance to be a partner or partneree when their body is ready to partner another humans' weight. This helps dancers to be themselves and gives them confidence in their own identity. This also makes well informed dancers who will understand every facet of ballet.

Brief Description of Classes
A Curriculum Made For You!
For many adults it can be difficult to progress in a linear and sequential manner in ballet.
Many classes that are offered for ballet tend to follow the format of Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced classes. This formatting is often unhelpful for dancers because it doesn't offer a well thought out guide of where exactly one is starting or ending.
Trillium Ballet has its very own ballet curriculum created by our founder and director Moriah Beth.
This curriculum follows a structure that is specifically tailored for teens and adults who just started learning ballet. Trillium Ballet's curriculum is based off of Vaganova, Cecchetti, Balanchine, and our founder, Beth Techniques.
Trillium Ballet's curriculum is based on modern science and biology ensuring that dancers are moving thoughtfully and healthily within their own body. Our curriculum teaches bodily awareness and autonomy while teaching excellent technique and self-compassion. This makes the TB curriculum a wise choice for all ages.
